Giant Carriage Clock. Joseph Eastman Boston Clock 1880
Light Yellow face with enamel raised white circle with black numbers. Extremely rare large and heavy, 12 lbs weight. Has two glass doors, one for the front and one for the back. Each of the four walls of the exterior of the clock is a single pane of glass, which allows you to see the interior mechanism of the clock. Opening in the face shows the escapements, magnificent strike piece, and tandem wind movement in front. The movement is wound back and forth and right and left. One direction for the time, one for the strike, to isolate the winding. Cut out behind the main spring in the center of the back plate and an inscription above it which states the date and make: " Boston Clock Co, Boston PATD. Dec 28, 1880. Serial number: B 8705 S 50 and on the bottom of the clock "BB". Use the carriage clock key with small end to make the adjustment at the front face opening.
